Anatoliy Bulakh – professional circus artist. Anatoliy was born on May 14, 1979 in Kiev, Ukraine.Parents always wanted Anatoliy to be fond of sports and therefore signed him up for professional artistic gymnastics section (Avangard sport School) since he was 5 years old. For his sports career, Anatoly has got many awards, including the title of Honored Master of Sports.
The high level of sports training allowed Anatoliy to enter the circus studio “Ale-Up” lead by Vyacheslav Soboliev. In 1994 Anatoliy enters the Kiev State College of Variety and Circus Arts (now the Kiev City Academy of Variety and Circus Arts named after L. Utyosov), where he got his education as “eccentric acrobatic on a trampoline”, as well as “aerial gymnastics.” Along with training since 1995, Anatoly enters the Union of the National Circus of Ukraine to practice in state circuses of the country.
Since 2001, as circus artist, Anatoliy has been touring Europe, America and other continents as aerial gymnast with solo and duo acts with his wife Marina as Duo Maxima. Aerial duo “Maxima” is one of the first mixed aerial straps duos in the world. Anatoliy’s career began in Germany, Salome Theater; then continued working in the largest theater in Europe – Friedrichstadtpalast Berlin, followed by a tour of various European dinners, as well as cruise liners of major American companies NCL Cruise Lines and Celebrity Cruises. At the moment, Anatoliy continues to cooperate with these companies, providing his produced acts for the show, and also helping to organize performances.
Seeking higher education, in 2001 Anatoliy enters the Kiev State University of Theater, Cinema and Television of I.K. Karpenko-Kary of the faculty of “Stage/circus director”, where he begins to create stage acts for circus artists. Anatoliy also prepares and promotes his performances for participation in various international circus festivals around the world. After graduation from the university Anatoliy works at Kyiv Municipal Academy of Variety and Circus Arts. L. Utesova for 5 years. Anatoliy Bulakh’s performances are the finalists and prize-winners of various international circus festivals like Les Feux de la Rampe, France, Young Stage Circus Festival, Switzerland, European Youth Circus Festival, Germany, Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain, France, etc.
Having the great artistic experience, Anatoliy and Marina start their creative project called “Circus Art Project Maxima”, which includes the artistic agency called “Maxima Artistic Agency”, which is still working, counting in its database more than 15,000 artists from all over the world.
In 2011, continuing its creative development, Circus Art Project Maxima founds a company called Circus Show Creation, which specializes on circus and variety show staging.
Today Anatoliy lives and works in between the three countries: Ukraine, Spain and Canada. In addition to directing, he also leads the circus studio called Circus Art Studio Maxima. Anatoliy’s students are currently performing at the best circus shows of the world like Cirque du Soleil, Canada, Ringling Brothers & Barnum & Bailey Circus, USA, Lido, Paris and other famous shows.
